August Student & Staff Awards

Good Evening Blackcats,
Tonight, the Mexia ISD School Board approved a pay increase for all district employees for the 2023-2024 school year. The teacher pay increase is commensurate with years of service and ranges from $1,000-$3,200. All auxiliary employees including paraprofessionals, secretaries, bus drivers, custodians and cafeteria staff will receive a 3% increase in their hourly pay. Your efforts are definitely noticed, including all the hard work you put in behind the scenes, after hours, and on the weekends. Each of you are planting seeds in the minds of children that will produce a crop of knowledge that will be invaluable to them in life.
A HUGE thank you goes out to each of you for your service to Mexia ISD! Also, THANK YOU to the MISD Board of Trustees for recognizing your commitment to serving the students of our district!
It's a great day to be a Blackcat!!

Good afternoon Blackcats,
Mexia ISD was made aware of a social media post on Saturday, August 12, 2023, concerning a potential threat to Mexia Junior High.
District and campus administration immediately contacted Mexia PD. MPD is fully aware of the post and have addressed the situation. They determined this to be a false threat and at no time were any MISD students or staff in any danger.
Mexia ISD would like to thank the Mexia Police Department for their collaboration and ensuring everyone’s safety.
All MISD campuses will be open at regular time on Monday, August 14, 2023 ready to serve and instruct students as normal.
A BIG thank you to Northcrest Church of Christ for feeding our Mexia ISD staff during in-service. The loaded BBQ baked potatoes and cake were DELICIOUS and the cups are the perfect reminder to stay hydrated during these warm August school days. Y'all ROCK!!!

On Sunday May 28th, Mrs. Shirley Lima, the event host for the regional chapter of Connecting Consciousness (CC), donated 109 backpacks to Mexia ISD for the upcoming 2023-24 school year. MISD is grateful for CC's kindness and consideration of our primary students.
Connecting Consciousness is a spiritual organization, connecting people worldwide in over 100 countries. The focus of CC is towards serving those around us, in our communities, in the workplace, in our schools, and neighborhoods. Service to others, rather than service to self, is one of the fundamental values of CC.

Come Celebrate with us!
