Mexia High School

Attention 2024 Blackcat Graduates, Graduation for the Senior Class of 2024 is scheduled for next Friday, May 24, 2024 at 8:00pm at Blackcat Stadium. All seating will be on the visitors side (like it was done before COVID). The stadium will open at 6:00pm to the public to find seats. In the event of inclement weather on Friday, our backup plan will be to postpone graduation until Saturday morning at 9:00am at the stadium. On Saturday, if the weather does not permit us to be outdoors we will then relocate the ceremony to the gymnasium at MHS. Each senior will be given a designated number of entry tickets to be used since indoor seating is limited.

Due to the weather closure the 8th grade parent meeting that was scheduled for today with the High School Counselors is canceled. This will be reschedule at a later date.

Good afternoon Blackcats, We are monitoring the weather very closely as severe storms appear to be heading our direction. If they arrive in Mexia around dismissal it could become necessary to keep students inside for a brief time, potentially causing a delay of releasing students, particularly if there is lightning or high winds in proximity to the schools. At this time we are on regular schedule. We will continue to monitor and let you know if any changes become necessary.

Progress continues at Blackcat Stadium! Installation has begun of the bleachers on the visitor side. Work is also being done on the home side right now, making preparations for pouring more concrete soon. It’s a great day to be a Blackcat!
